Easy Dal Kichdi / Mixed Vegetable Lentil Rice


Preparation Time : 5 Minutes
Cooking Time: 15 Minutes
Servings : 2

Ingredients:

Rice - 1 cup
Yellow Moong Dal / Green Gram - 1/4 cup
Mixed Vegetables - 1 cup
( I used frozen cut veggies)
Tomato - 1 small finely chopped
Garlic - Finely Chopped - 1 tablespoon
Green Chilli - 2
Coriander leaves - 1 tablespoon finely chopped
Turmeric Powder - 1 teaspoon
Asafoedita - a pinch
Cumin Seeds - 1 teaspoon
Ghee - 1 teaspoon (optional)
Oil
Salt

Method:

Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pressure pan, add Cumin Seeds let it splutter.Add garlic,tomato, green chilli , rest of the veggies and saute for a minute.Add washed rice and dal along with 3 cups of water and pressure cook on low flame for 20 minutes or upto 4 whistles.Smear little ghee and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot.

Tip: You can use vegetables like carrot, corn, beans, potato and peas.
