Paal Poli / Sweet poli

Preparation Time : 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Servings: 2


All purpose flour/Maida - 2 cups
Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Milk - 1/2 litre
Cardamoms - 3
Sugar- 1 cup or more accordingly
Oil for frying


Mix maida, baking soda, salt, ,and 2 tablespoons oil together, add enough water and gradually make it into a soft dough. Cover the dough with a wet cloth and keep it aside for 20 minutes. Divide the dough in to small balls and roll them in to puris. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry the puris till light brown on both sides. Keep it aside. Heat Milk in a thick bottomed pan on medium flame stirring in between, add crushed cardamoms, sugar and let the milk thicken.Remove from flame. Now dip each puri well in the milk and serve hot or refrigirate them and serve cold.
