Brown Rice Biriyani


Brown Rice is  unmilled rice, a kind of whole and natural grain. It is much high in nutrition when compared to white rice.They are very rich in dietary fibre and cure constipation effectively.          

Preparation Time: 1 hour
Cooking Time : 30 minutes                  
Serving: 2

Ingredients : 

Brown Rice - 1 cup
Onion - 1 Medium
Tomatoes - 2 Medium
Green Chilli - 1
Carrot - Finely chopped - 1/2 cup
Beans  - Finely chopped - 1/2 cup
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tablespoon
Coriander Leaves - Finely chopped - 2 tablespoons
Cinnamon Stick - 1
Clove - 3
Fennel Seeds - 1 teaspoon
Bay Leaf - 2
Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
Biriyani Masala - 2 teaspoons
Oil - 2 tablespoons
Salt - to taste

Method:

Soak brown rice for an hour in warm water. Heat oil in a pressure pan, add fennel seeds,clove,cinnamon and bay leaf and saute  for a minute.Then add finely chopped onions, saute for a minute.Now add tomatoes,green chilli and other vegetables, add turmeric powder,biriyani masala and saute for 2 minutes. Add the soaked rice along with 2 cups of water, cook on low flame for 15 minutes or until the rice is cooked.You can also pressure cook up to 3 whistles.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.Healthy Biriyani is ready.
