Sabudhana Kichdi / Sago stir fry

Sabudhana kichdi is a famous maharashtra dish, this is mainly made on fasting days, I learnt this simple yet delicious recipe from my MIL. So here goes the recipe




Preparation time : 10 minutes
Cooking Time : 10 minutes
Servings : 2

Ingredients :

Sago / Sabudhana - 2 cups
Potato - 1 medium sized - boiled and mashed
Green Chilli - 2
Coriander leaves - Finely chopped - 1 tablespoon
Asafoedita - a pinch
Peanuts - 1/2 cup - dry roasted and coarsely powdered
Cumin Seeds - 1 teaspoon
Salt - to taste
Oil - 1 tablespoon

Method :

Soak sago for around 6 hours in water. Heat oil in a pan,add cumin seeds let  it splutter,now add chopped green chillies, mashed potatoes and powdered peanuts, saute for few minutes on low flame. Strain the water from sago and add it to the pan along with salt, and asafoedita, and cook on low flame , until sago is well cooked.Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot.
